Oakland Avenue Charter School Barely Misses "A" Rating

OACS_Wide

With "A" scores in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science Achievement, the Oakland Avenue Charter School (OACS)  was just 12 points shy of achieving an overall "A" rating in the recently released Florida Department of Education school grades report. OACS showed rating increases in all three English Language Arts categories including overall achievement, learning gains, and learning gains of the lowest 25%. In order to achieve an "A" rating overall, OACS would have had to had at least 62% of total possible points or greater and came in with 60% of total possible points giving it an overall "B" rating. The only area that OACS did not get an "A" or "B" individual component rating in was Mathematics Learning Gains of the Lowest 25% which is the component specific to students who are in the lowest 25% of scoring in mathematics.

For additional information on grades for other local area schools, you can view the Orlando Sentinel's Central Florida School Grades interactive map.

We are very proud of our OACS Eagle students, parents, teachers, and administration and know they will continue to do their very best in not only learning and testing but in being good community citizens which is the goal of our public charter school.
