Happy Holidays garland at the town center

Get in the spirit as the Town of Oakland presents its 4th Annual “Light Up Oakland” event from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the Town Center Circle (220 N. Tubb St.) 

Bring the entire family to meet and take photos with Santa and enjoy holiday fun, including face painting, balloon artist, food trucks, DJ, Christmas carols with the Oakland Avenue Charter School Choir and special performances from Centre for Dance & the Performing Arts and the Oakland Avenue Charter School Spirit Squad.

Stay for the celebratory lighting of the Town Center Circle and the Christmas tree.

Town of Oakland residents and visitors to Light Up Oakland should be aware of road closures and special parking accommodations due to the event.

From 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 through 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, no parking will be allowed at the Town Center roundabout.

From 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, the following roads will be closed to through traffic: Tubb Street and Gulley Avenue at the Town Center roundabout, Gulley Avenue at the Oakland Post Office, Tubb Street at the West Orange Trail and Petris Avenue at the Town Center roundabout.  

Those planning to attend Light Up Oakland should park at the West Orange Baptist Church, located at 200 S. Tubb St. Volunteers will be shuttling visitors to the Town Center via golf cart.
