Angela Campbell has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and transferred to a position as Commander of Operations for the Oakland Police Department.
Lt. Campbell started with the Oakland Police Department in 2009 as a reserve officer and was transferred to full time in 2010. She worked in the patrol division for several years, distinguishing herself with numerous commendations and was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2013. Four years later, she was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Unit as a Detective and was later promoted as Detective/Sergeant in 2018.
As a detective, Campbell earned a reputation as being proactive and successful, arresting numerous felons while working cases including burglaries, auto thefts, fraud, bomb making, sexual assault, robbery and attempted murder.
Lt. Campbell is the most highly decorated officer in the Oakland Police Department, with a staggering 90 Letters of Commendations earned in over 10 years of service. She has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and was twice decorated with the Chief Award Ribbon for exemplary service, duty and commitment to the Town of Oakland.
She is a graduate of the 83rd Command Officer Development Course from the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute.
