Police Department

The Oakland Police Department is operating normally with modified non-emergency responses. For more information, call 407-656-9797, ext. 2. For emergencies, call 911. All fingerprinting services have been suspended until further notice.

On March 20, Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an Executive Order directing all restaurants and food establishments within the State of Florida to suspend on-premises food and alcohol consumption for customers. The listed establishments may, however, operate their kitchens for the purpose of providing delivery or take-out services.

Additionally, the Executive Order requires the closures of gymnasiums and fitness centers within the State of Florida. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) shall utilize its authorities under Florida law to further implement and enforce the provisions of this Executive Order and shall take additional measures as necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare.

Mayor Jerry Demings enacted a curfew beginning on March 20. The curfew will be in place from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The opening of drive-through testing sites are important to all of us, as testing is the key to perfecting our response and mitigation plans. One testing site will be at the parking lot near the Orange County Convention Center and is slated to open on Wednesday, March 25.

The Town of Oakland is continuing to monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state health officials regarding Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, please seek medical care. Contact your health care provider by phone ahead of your visit and tell them about your recent travel and symptoms. Because the coronavirus disease is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person, we ask that you not enter Town Hall if you have any of these symptoms or have recently traveled to China, Iran, Italy, Japan, or South Korea; returned from a cruise; or traveled from any other COVID-19 affected area in the last 14 days. Instead, call the Florida Department of Health’s Call Center 24/7 at (866) 779-6121.
