[ARCHIVED] Arrest

In the late afternoon of Tuesday, 8/15/17,  members of the Oakland Police Department with the assistance of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, served a search warrant at 507 West Postell Avenue.  During the course of that search, Mr. Daniel Rashad Monroe was taken into custody, pursuant to an arrest warrant obtained by Detective Angela Campbell.  The warrant charged Mr. Monroe with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, dealing in stolen property and false verification/ownership, second hand dealer.  All three felonies were in connection with a transaction at a local area pawn shop. The firearm that was pawned had been stolen during a burglary to a home on Briley Avenue in Oakland in July of this year.  Detective Campbell is continuing to follow up on other burglaries which have occurred in this area of Oakland over the past several months.
